Cooking up the South

This class invites students to explore Southern foodways through tasting, storytelling, and hands-on discovery. We’ll follow ingredients as they move across the South, meet the people who carried them, and uncover the stories hiding in everyday dishes. Along the way, students will smell, sample, and ask big questions about where food comes from and why it matters. The class blends play with learning, making space for curiosity, creativity, and reflection. Together, we’ll discover how Southern food tells a story of movement, memory, and shared tables and why those stories still matter today.

LEGO Engineers: Gravity!

LEGO Engineers: Gravity invites campers to dive into an action-packed week of STEM exploration through the exciting world of LEGO! Using creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, campers will take on dynamic building challenges that explore how gravity shapes the way objects move, fall, balance, and fly. Throughout the week, participants will work individually and in small groups to design, build, test, and improve their creations using a variety of LEGO kits and their own imaginations. Campers will experiment with ramps, towers, bridges, vehicles, and moving structures as they investigate forces like gravity, motion, balance, and speed through hands-on problem solving. Each day introduces a new gravity-focused theme such as falling objects, gravity-powered machines, sports and motion, and engineering for stability, giving campers plenty of opportunities to explore physics concepts in a fun and engaging way. Join us for a week of LEGO engineering fun where campers will build amazing creations, test real-world physics ideas, and discover how gravity plays a powerful role in everything we design!

Let's Dance!

Campers (rising grades kindergarten through 4th) will spend the week learning to dance, turn, and leap like ballerinas and modern dancers. We'll play games with rhythm, sing and dance along to our favorite Disney songs, and make crafts that we'll wear at the end of the week as our costumes in a final performance! There is no dance experience necessary -- just a bit of enthusiasm! We can dance in our socks and shoes just as well as we can in ballet slippers.
