Learn to Sew: Handsewn Kitchen Cuteness

Woods Charter School (location map)
Mon - Fri, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
07/22/19 (1 week)

Your child will design and sew an adorable, reversible apron plus matching crumb catcher/mini placemat from fabrics they choose, which will surely match their personality. This apron pattern will fit them for several years, plus it's two-sided: one for messy cooking then flip it over for a clean side for serving.

The first day of camp is a field trip to a local fabric or craft shop to pick out supplies, via a Woods Charter bus. The second day is learning how to safely use the sewing tools we’ll need to complete the project(s), including pins & needles, scissors, and iron, then learning the basics of how to operate a sewing machine, including tips and shortcuts to make sewing easier and more productive. Part of day 2, day 3, and day 4 are designing and creating their project(s), with final touches added day 5, ending with a parent-invited show & tell the last 15 minutes of camp to show off not only their projects, but also the new skills they have learned.
